EFT Tapping for Anxiety, Stress & Trauma
Gentle, evidence-informed support to help calm the nervous system and release emotional overwhelm.
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), or EFT tapping, is a mind–body approach that combines elements of somatic stimulation, cognitive therapy, and exposure-based techniques.
Often described as “psychological acupuncture,” it involves gently tapping on specific points on the face and upper body.
While doing this, attention is focused on a thought, feeling, belief or event/experience that may be causing emotional distress or overwhelm.
EFT therapy is a stress reduction technique designed to help calm the nervous system, reduce emotional distress, and support the release of difficult feelings. It’s simple, practical, and can be used both in sessions and on your own.
How EFT works
During EFT, you focus on a specific issue (such as anxiety, stress, or a difficult memory) while tapping on a sequence of points on the body.
This process can help:
Reduce cortisol levels
Reduce the intensity of emotional reactions
Support a sense of calm and regulation
Shift unhelpful thoughts and emotional patterns
Helps process trauma, uncertainty and fear
Emotional Freedom Techniques can help with

Anxiety and Stress

Limiting Beliefs or Self-Doubt

Distressing Past Experiences

Overwhelm or Burnout

Emotional Blocks

Grief and Loss
What to expect in a session
In sessions, I will guide you through tapping techniques while we explore what you’re experiencing.
You can use these skills outside of therapy as a practical tool for self-regulation and emotional support.
What You Can Gain from Emotional Freedom Techniques
Research shows that EFT tapping can create measurable shifts in both the body and mind. Studies have found that tapping can lower cortisol, support healthy immune functioning, positively influence heart health, ease physical pain, and help the brain reorganize its responses to triggers and past traumatic experiences.
